📚 MTTC Readiness Checker — User Guide
What does this app do?
This tool helps you quickly determine which candidates on your EdReports Verification Roster are MTTC Ready. It compares your EdReports file against the MTTC Ready Upload file (if one is available), automatically marks candidates as Ready or Not Ready when a match is found, and walks you through a manual lookup process for anyone who could not be matched automatically. When you are done, you can download a color-coded Excel file or print the roster. The output is sorted in the exact same order as your original EdReports upload — so you can enter results directly into edReports row by row without any re-sorting.
Don't have an MTTC Ready Upload file? No problem — you have two great options:
Use the template (recommended): Download the MTTC Ready Upload Template using the button below. Fill it in with readiness data from the CRM, Pearson results, or any other approved source, then upload it as File 2. The app will automatically match candidates, determine their status, and only send you to manual lookup for anyone it cannot confidently match.
Skip the upload entirely: Just upload your EdReports roster and click Begin Manual Lookup. The app walks you through every candidate one at a time in a focused popup — showing their name, ID, and MTTC area — so you can look them up in the CRM and record their status without ever losing your place. No spreadsheet juggling, no manual color-coding, no risk of accidentally skipping someone.
Why this app makes the whole process better — regardless of which approach you use:
Smart automatic matching. When you upload an MTTC Ready file, the app matches using up to three fields at once (Name, Last 4 SSN, and Student ID). Candidates with name formatting differences between files are still caught and matched at a confidence level you can see and filter.
No manual sorting required. The old process required sorting the roster by subject area, color-coding rows, and tracking duplicates by eye across two documents. This app categorizes every candidate automatically, flags duplicates, and groups results by category for easy review.
A guided manual process. Instead of bouncing between a spreadsheet, edReports, and the CRM, you work through one focused candidate at a time. The Stop & Hide button lets you step away from your desk without leaving sensitive data on screen, and Resume Manual Lookup picks up exactly where you left off — no lost progress.
Output that is ready to use immediately. The color-coded Excel file mirrors the edReports row order exactly. Submitting becomes a matter of scrolling your file and clicking in edReports — no re-sorting, no cross-referencing, no mistakes.
Completely private. All data stays in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to a server, shared externally, or stored anywhere outside your device.
⬇ Download the MTTC Ready Upload Template
Use this blank template to collect readiness data from any source (CRM, Pearson results, internal tracking, etc.) and format it correctly for upload into this app. Fill it in and save as .xlsx, then upload it as File 2.
Step 1 — Upload Your Files
EdReports Verification Roster (required): Your main candidate list. The app reads each candidate's name, SSN, Student ID, and MTTC subject area from this file.
MTTC Ready Upload (optional): A file containing readiness data. Use the template above to build this file from any source. If you skip it, every candidate will go to manual lookup instead.
Multiple Content Areas: If a candidate has more than one content area, they need a separate row in the MTTC Ready Upload file for each area. The app matches all rows and uses the most favorable status.
You can drag and drop files onto the upload boxes, or click to browse.
Step 2 — Process the Roster
Click Process Roster after uploading. The app will:
Match each candidate against the MTTC Ready Upload using up to three fields simultaneously: Name, Last 4 of SSN, and Student ID.
Mark candidates as Ready — Shows in MTTC Ready Upload if their MTTC Ready? column is TRUE.
Mark candidates as Not Ready if their Not MTTC Ready column is TRUE.
Queue anyone who could not be matched for manual lookup.
Show a match confidence badge for every candidate so you know how reliable each match is.
Match Confidence — What Does It Mean?
✓ High — Matched using Name + SSN, Name + Student ID, or all three. Very reliable.
~ Medium — Matched using SSN + Student ID only, meaning the name may be formatted differently between files. Review these.
! Low — Matched on name only. Could be a different person with the same name. Review carefully.
— None — No match found at all. Will go to manual lookup.
Step 3 — Manual Lookup
Click Begin Manual Lookup to work through candidates who need a manual check. For each candidate a box will appear with their name and MTTC area. Look them up in the CRM or using another approved criteria and select the appropriate status.
Click Save Status to record your selection and move to the next candidate.
Click Skip for now to come back to that candidate later.
Click ⏹ Stop & Hide to close the lookup box immediately and hide the screen. Sensitive information will no longer be visible. Click Resume Manual Lookup in the toolbar to pick up where you left off.
